There are many kinds of packaging on the market, including glass bottles, metal cans, plastic cans, cans, etc. What are the advantages and differences of these packaging? Let’s briefly talk about What is the Difference Between a Glass Bottle and Tin Can today?

Various types of glass can meet the different needs of different occasions. By adjusting the materials and processes of manufacturing glass, manufacturers can greatly change the properties of glass materials, making them more stable and durable. At present, there are several types of recycling of glass products: as a flux for casting, transformation, recycling, recycling, raw material recovery and reuse.

1.As a casting flux

Broken glass can be used as a flux for smelting cast steel and cast copper alloys, covering the molten metal to prevent oxidation.

2. Transformation and utilization

Transformation and utilization is an urgently developed recycling method. In the future, there will be many new technologies that can add value for transformation and utilization. After the pre-processed cullet is processed into small particles of glass, it can be used for a variety of purposes:

(1)Mix shattered glass with building materials to make building products such as building prefabricated parts and building bricks. Practice has proved that the dimensional accuracy and strength of products formed by using organic substances as a cementing agent under pressure are high, and the production cost is low.

(2)The use of glass fragments as a pavement assembly has been tested in the united states and canada for several years. It has been confirmed that using glass fragments as a filler for roads can reduce the vehicle’s lateral rollover accidents than using other materials; light reflection is appropriate; the wear is good; the snow melts quickly, and it is suitable for use in places with low temperatures.

(3)The mixture of glass and plastic waste and building materials can be made into synthetic building products.

(4)Shattered glass is used to make building surface decorations, reflector materials, arts and crafts and clothing accessories, with beautiful visual effects.

3. Recycling

The recovered glass is pre-processed and then returned to the furnace for melting to produce glass containers, glass fibers, and the like.

4.Reuse of raw materials

The recovered cullet is used as the raw material for the glass product, because adding the cullet in an appropriate amount helps the glass to melt at a lower temperature.

5. Reuse

At present, the recycling range of glass bottle packaging is mainly low-value large-volume commodity packaging glass bottles. Such as beer bottles, soda bottles, soy sauce bottles, vinegar bottles and some canned bottles.
